SENSOR TEST QC

The daily control of sensor tests is one of the most effective methods used to determine whether the data collected in the field meet the desired standards. Although the number of sensor tests per day varies depending on the representative and the agreement made, it is important to perform the test before and after the shots in order to represent the data acquired.

Below is the interface of the Sensor QC program. There are 3 different options in the program depending on the daily number of sensor tests.

"Default Parameters" and "Selected Paramters" options are available in the Sensor QC program.

Default Parameters are;

Resistance = 950-1100 Ohm

Tilt= -10 , 10

Noise = 25 Mv

Leakage = 1 Mohm

These parameters can be changed by clicking the "Selected Parameters" option.

After selecting the parameter, the format type should be selected from the "Data Format" panel. Sensor QC supports only Sercel 508XT and Sercel 428XL recording systems like other programs. After the format selection, the daily test period must be selected on the "Select Test Frequency" panel. After selecting the test number, test data can be selected from the screen that opens by clicking the "Load Data" button.

After loading the sensor test data, "Graphic Style" should be selected.

By using "Control Panel", resistance, tilt, noise, and leakage values can be updated. Existing limits can be changed as follows.

The error rate of each data group can be created by clicking the "Error Pie" button.

As in other programs in the GeoTECH, all of the erroneous receiver points can be saved to the main file location by clicking the "Save" button.

Values of resistance, noise, leakage, tilt, serial number, point number and location information can be found in the saved file. These erroneous points can be plotted using map programs such as Global Mapper, GIS etc. and the distribution of the points within the survey area can be seen. Thus, it can be understood whether the error is due to environmental factors or technical problems.

If you want to check 2 or more tests per day, the program will allow you to select more than one test data. Since the file selection screen allows you to select 1 test for each time, the screen will open as many as the number of tests and allow you to select multiple data. When the data is plotted, each test result will be colored differently.

If the error rate is plotted in the multiple test option, the error rate of each test will be separately plotted on the same screen. In this way, the error change of the data during the day can be observed.

Note: 'Save' button will become inactive and will not create error file in multiple test options.
